The 'NOW' series was coined as a definition of today's music. In keeping with this theme, this 'Now 36' album is indeed a snapshot of today's popular music.

My problem is the reduction in the number of 'today's music' on the recent 'Now' compilations. Until `NOW 32', the 'NOW' compilations included 20 popular tracks - a 100% snapshot of 'today's music'. The new format (beginning with 'NOW 33') includes only 16 popular hits. In my opinion, the producers of the Now albums have messed up a winning formula!

On 'NOW 32' a 21st bonus track was added as 'What's Next ... that was fine!
From 'NOW 33' to `NOW 35', the format dubiously changed from 20 chart toppers to 16, with the last 4 tracks featuring 'upcoming artistes' as 'NOW What's Next' bonus tracks.

The (current) 'NOW 36' album has yet again just 16 chart toppers. Still tinkering with the formula for the 'NOW' album compilation - the 4 'bonus tracks' now comprise - 3 featuring 'upcoming artistes' and 1 as a 'NOW Flashback Bonus' - an Elvis Presley song. I love Elvis, but please 'NOW' editors, no oldies on an album of 'current music'!

You found the winning formula a long time ago ... on the 'NOW' 1 to 32 albums! It's that simple! Revert to the old format - a compilation of 20 chart toppers defining today's music ... not the music of tomorrow or yesterday!

I buy the 'NOW' compilation series to collect the hits from the current stars like Katy Perry, Usher, Daughtry, Ke$ha and Nelly. I simply want a 'NOW' album with 100% today's chart toppers! - no 'oldies' or 'maybes'! Save these as alternative 'NOW' compilations or bonus downloads from the 'NOW' website.

Every so often, I come across an album that excites me more and more as I listen to each song for the first time and leaves a smile on my face when it's over. This is one of those albums.

"Memento Mori" is a concept album that explores light and dark and reminds the listener to live while being mindful of death. It should come as no surprise then, given knowledge of the band members' faiths, that the lyrics have a strong Christian theme running through them. While Flyleaf's debut had its share of Christian references, they are much more pronounced and in abundance on this album. The lyrics are meaningful, deep, honest, and blunt. You won't find them in the CD booklet. Instead, the booklet contains a series of journal entries (one for each song) that give insight into the meanings behind the songs, written from the point of view of the commander of an army.

The album is full of original, infectious melodies that have enough variety to carry it through from beginning to end without it becoming boring. There is a nice balance of heavier and lighter rock. The songs are arranged well, starting with an upbeat anthem and ending with a hopeful and haunting closer. Lacey pours her soul into every song she sings. It's clear that the band put a lot of effort into the album, and it paid off.

Although I purchased the deluxe edition of the album, I decided to base my rating only on the main album so I wouldn't have to deduct any stars from the final score for the mini-CD. The extra four-song CD isn't bad, but it's nothing special. It lacks the creativity and diversity of the main album, and doesn't really warrant the hassle of having to pop it into the CD player after the main album is finished. It sounds more like a mini b-sides album with its somewhat forgettable melodies. I was also unable to download the songs from it into my iTunes library (though I did not deduct any stars because of this, since I don't know whose fault this is). Unless you are a serious fan of the band, I would recommend the regular version of "Memento Mori" over the deluxe version.

I am a big fan of the Twilight Saga and did get the soundtrack... and it didn't sound right. I am not as obsessive as some other Twilight fans, but it DID sound a bit off. Then I saw the this Kindle book and thought, "Why not?" I figured this guide would give me a hint as to what as wrong with the soundtrack. Turns out the sound track is not only out of order, but not all the songs are included. Got it. But then the author goes further and talks about how having the soundtrack in the right order, which is easy in this digital day and age, helps you actually understand the saga better, and better remember scenes. It actually was true. This guide helped me deepen my appreciation of this saga, and it was a nifty guide to have on my digital devices along with the songs on the soundtrack. Nicely done and a serious added enhancement for Twilight fans like me.

I heard the single, "I'm So Sick," on the radio a few weeks ago. I bought the self-titled album. I went to their concert a couple of hours ago...And now I can't help but write a review.

Flyleaf is young, raw, still growing, and full of energy. On stage, they are passionate and fun to watch. In their songs, they are honest and searching, spiritual and hopeful. Are you tired of bands who wallow in despair or rage? Flyleaf goes to those places and then comes out on the other side. They show there is a way out.

Most of the songs on this album are worth repeat spins, and two or three are exceptional. Lacey's voice is able to draw you in with fragile emotion, then jar you to life with an unleashed scream. I love that in a female singer--and it's a rare trait. There is something here on this album for most rockers. I believe, in the future, we'll see more and even better things from Flyleaf.
